READING NOTE / 04 / For artists

THE ARTIST / THE WORK / THE CONTEXT

Represent your own practice clearly.

Prepare an individual profile around identity, current context and portfolio material you have permission to share.

01

Use an accurate public identity

Provide the name you are authorised to use professionally, a relevant location and a current public contact route. Keep a private administrative email separate from information intended for publication. A representative should have permission from the artist before preparing a proposal.

02

Explain your work in context

Describe your own contribution and any current studio relationship accurately. Credit collaborators, photographers and reference sources where appropriate. Do not present another person’s work, a former team member’s portfolio or an unauthorised client image as evidence of your own current practice.

03

Keep claims supported

Avoid unapproved rankings, badges, licensing statements, affiliations or promised outcomes. The directory currently has no approved public profiles. A private proposal is not membership approval, independent assessment or verification; any future review process needs an actual defined scope and a responsible operator.

04

Prepare for responsible publication

Use only authorised portfolio links and information you have permission to share. Keep sensitive records out of a general proposal. Public information needs a route for correction or withdrawal, and consent needs to match the actual publication purpose. The present form prepares a private review and optional download or email draft only.
